Humour seen from a public health perspectiveNordic School of Public Health, Sweden, lars.cernerud{at}nhv.se
Department of Caring and Public Health Sciences, Mälardalen University, Sweden Humour is to be regarded as a salutogenic factor. As with other such factors there are reasons to believe that humour is a part of the individual's personality with the possibility of being strengthened by influences from the family, school, and workplace. The use of humour in population-based health promotive intervention strategies is a field lacking evidence-based knowledge.
Key Words: humour laughter public health.
